Mercury VXS Solutions –

The VITA 41 VXS standard brings high-speed switch fabrics to the VME ecosystem with backward-compatibility at the slot level. Reusing existing VME boards in a VXS system is easy, because every payload slot has the standard VME P1 and P2 connectors running the standard VME64 protocol. Simply add the high-speed switch fabric via the new P0 connector with signaling rates of over 10 GHz, fast enough for the next generation of high-speed processors.

Mercury offers a broad set of VXS boards for analog input, single-board computers, signal and image processing, digital I/O, and RapidIO switch cards. You can use these boards individually or integrate them with third-party products into systems for both benign and rugged environments.

Most of Mercury’s VXS products run the RapidIO protocol over VXS to create highly scalable systems with high bandwidth and low latency. With over 42 GB/s of aggregate bandwidth and over 24 GB/s of bisection bandwidth, these systems have the bandwidth to meet your current and future requirements. Some products use PCI Express® or Gigabit Ethernet for specific functions such as graphics I/O. We also have solutions that use multiple protocols, such as RapidIO to transport TCP/IP packets fed by 10 Gigabit Ethernet.

Mercury has been delivering VXS solutions for over 2 years for signal and image processing applications. These VXS systems are backward compatible with software from Mercury’s RACE++ systems, making VXS the ideal technology insertion path. With a combination of boards, software, and services, Mercury can create an integrated subsystem to meet your application requirements.
