Ensemble 3000 Series OpenVPX SFM3010 Switch Fabric Module

The Ensemble® 3000 Series SFM3010 3U OpenVPX™ (VITA 65) Switch Fabric Module from Mercury Computer Systems is a single-slot switching solution that enables scalability and provides additional switching and management functionality for 3U systems. The SFM3010 combines serial RapidIO® data-plane switching with a managed Gigabit Ethernet control-plane switch for maximum scalability. The SFM3010 also implements the OpenVPX Chassis Manager function for mission-critical system management. With the addition of the SFM3010’s XMC mezzanine site, users can stream I/O directly on to the data plane, delivering data directly to any processing element in the system without signifi cant overhead. By combining these functions on a single 3U OpenVPX module, the SFM3010 expands subsystem capabilities for size, weight, and power (SWaP)-constrained environments.
