Ensemble 2000 Series
MFib-201 Fiber/Copper I/O AMC Module

The Ensemble® 2000 Series MFib-201 Fiber/Copper I/O AMC Module supports serial data-plane communications and a Gigabit Ethernet control-plane connection through the front panel for multi-shelf and multi-chassis system configurations. Using a variety of serial protocols or Ethernet connections, it also allows external data devices to stream data in for processing.

The MFib-201 is a mid-height (optionally full-height), single-width AMC, designed to function with either an ATCA carrier card, such as the Ensemble BCC-201 Quad AMC Carrier Blade, or within a MicroTCA chassis.

  • Supports one 8x, two 4x, four 1x, or any combination of 4x or 1x serial fabric ports
  • Quad small-form-factor pluggable (QSFP) transceivers
  • Supported protocols: serial ATA, Fibre Channel, Gigabit Ethernet, IEEE 1394b, InfiniBand®, PCI-X, serial RapidIO®, SAS, and XAUI
  • Supports Gigabit Ethernet connection, converting from 1000BX on AMC connector to 1000Base-T on front panel
  • Onboard Module Management Controller (MMC)
  • Flexible serial communications and dta streaming
  • Robust module for standards-based, scalable ATCA® and MicroTCA® platforms
  • Protocol-agnostic I/O via eight 3.125 Gb/s front-panel optical or copper links
  • One copper Gigabit Ethernet connection on the front panel
