One way to button up homeland security is by improving threat detection at key checkpoints. Baggage scanning is a big part of that. It prevents smuggled weapons and hazardous material from reaching their final destination. Today baggage scanning devices must rapidly detect real threats — with minimal false positives. Inefficiency is simply not an option.

What We Did

Customized Application Ready Subsystem

Mercury designed an embedded Application Ready Subsystem (ARS) in support of a key customer’s baggage scanning solution. The ARS uses sophisticated imaging processing algorithms to support better images and faster belt speeds. Mercury engineers also provided a middleware framework to support the customer’s application software.  Now, heightened security is clearly in the bag.
