EO/IR Systems Enable Situational Awareness

Too Much Unused Data Being Generated
In the heat of battle, time is precious. Our warfighters can only commit so many hours to analyzing data, so the more actionable it is the better. Unfortunately, modern EO/IR sensors generate massive amounts of real-time data — too much to handle, in fact. The challenge: Maximize the data’s usefulness through improved electro-optical subsystems.

Enhanced EO/IR Application Ready Subsystem
Mercury engineers produced an advanced EO/IR Application Ready Subsystem (ARS) for a key persistent surveillance program. The ARS offers ultra-high speed image processing, improved compression capabilities and extremely large storage. Enhancing these electro-optical components leads to more actionable data and heightened situational awareness for military personnel. What’s more, the prototype system was delivered in only nine months.
