Co-op Software Engineer - Performance Algorithms Group

Responsibilities: The primary responsibility in this position will be to assist in the implementation and automation of functional, performance and scalability testing of: PAS™ Parallel Application System, PixL™ Image Processing Library, SAL™ Scientific Algorithm Library, and VSIPL™ Vector Signal and Image Processing Library. PAS is a library of functions that enable programmers to move, gather and distribute data on Mercury's high performance embedded multicomputer. SAL, PixL and VSIPL are libraries of functions that perform mathematical operations used in radar processing, medical imaging, and image processing. This individual is also responsible for other group support activities as assigned.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate has some programming experience, preferably in C/C++; some experience or familiarity with shell script, a Unix text editor, source code debugger, and make; good communication and problem solving skills; enthusiasm and a desire to learn. Co-op Software Engineer - Tools and Languages

Responsibilities: The primary responsibility in this position will be to perform regression and qualification testing and writing new tests in support of the Tools and Languages group (Eclipse IDE, Trace Analysis, etc).  The qualified candidate will also participate in the software development process and work in an environment with source code control.  Knowledge of JUnit and client/server socket protocol a plus.

Co-op: SW/HW Engineer - Module Diagnostics Group

Responsibilities: Be part of a dynamic team! Execute test plans and specifications to verify diagnostic and functionality for high performance, multiprocessor hardware module development and POST for mission critical applications. Interface with members of the Diagnostic Engineering team and other teams to work through technical issues and communicate results. Assist development and test teams in isolating problems and implementing fixes. Develop reports indicating results. Identify and develop software, documentation, and tools as needed.

Qualifications: Motivated BS/MS candidate in CE or EE with a desire to work with hardware. Knowledge of ‘C’ is required. Responsibilities: Assist Test Engineer in the testing of electronic systems, subassemblies, and parts to ensure function to specifications or to troubleshoot product failure. Must be able to read basic schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans. Assist in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Use manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators, DMM’s, Spectrum Analyzers, and specialized test apparatus. Also, review and/or modify testing Documents and manuals.

Qualifications: Must currently be enrolled in and seeking a BSEE degree or similar discipline. Must be dependable, and reliable. General working knowledge of electronics testing equipment (such as oscilloscopes, digital meters, signal generators, and Spectrum Analyzers Systems) are preferred. Additional preferred qualifications: LabView, Matlab, MathCad, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel.
